Dubai is known as a land of world records as there are many things which they do the best in the world and by doing few of them they have made world records. People in Dubai are the champions as they have created some of the best things which someone might not be able to think of. Few of such record breaking things done in Dubai are listed below:
Largest Poster in the World:
They have created a largest poster which was measured 200m by 100m and was sized 20,000 sq m. This poster was displayed beside the runways of Dubai airport. This posted was intended by a real estate firm Sorouh so that it can advertise about a corporate citizenship promotion. One million images are to be collected of faces as these are to be placed on the poster. An amount of US$1 was donated by Sorouh to the UAE Red Crescent for every photo gathered. When calculated the total donation came out to be US$1million (Dhs3.67million).
Largest Shopping Trolley in the World:
A shopping trolley of height 9m computing 6.3m by 2.5m was created by Century Mall. It was a part of the year’s 2004 shopping festival. The trolley is based on four pick up tyres and each of the tyre weigh three tonnes.
Most Luxurious Magazine Issue:
The Kohl’s last year’s one-off issue was completely hand-made with 622 diamonds and 91g of gold which was valued US$10,000 (Dhs58,854). The application of the gold leaf was a fraction of an 86 hour process.
Largest School Bag in the World:
A cartoon character Lulu Caty unveiled the largest and a huge school bag measuring 3m high by 2m wide. It was opened in last October at the Dubai Mall.
Largest Coin-like Medallion across the Globe:
The medallion created was 2.3cm thick, measured 1m in diameter and weighs 185.88Kg. It was set by Damas and is made from silver plated with 22 carat gold.
